Online College Degree Fees Are Considerably Less Than That Paid to a Traditional University
With more and more students applying for online degree courses, learning online has become very popular these days with lots of universities and business colleges getting on the band wagon to establish online college degree programs for interested students. When this concept was in its infancy, the online college degree fees were pretty high since they were promoted by private universities and had nothing to do with the state. Today however, with the rising popularity of online studying, many state funded as well as public and other schools and organizations have started offering online college degrees at reduced rates making them more accessible to the average student who is not able to attend a traditional university.
While there are no set fees for all programs, online college degree fees would obviously depend on the university chosen by the student and the course he wishes to pursue.
With their being so many universities offering online degrees, the level of competition has made most colleges to offer competitive rates to online students to gain an advantage over others.
Anyone interested in enrolling for an online degree should always thoroughly research the college he wishes to apply to before enrolling and making payment.
The first thing a student should check on is whether the online college degree fees he or she is called upon to pay is for an accredited college or not.
Most colleges have very high sounding names and matching fees; but provide only diploma courses for students. Students who are not aware of this might be duped into paying unnecessarily high fees for obtaining a diploma certificate whereas what they assumed was that it was online college degree fees.
Don't always assume that the higher the fees are the better the online degree program is. There are enough and more small and less popular colleges that offer great programs and authentic degrees for less fees than the so called popular online colleges. Although you cannot really say that online college degree fees are cheap; they are definitely cheaper than attending a traditional university degree course. Furthermore, when you think of the savings you make on not having to commute to college and back, not have to live on campus and pay for dorm meals and other miscellaneous fees, doing your degree online becomes much cheaper in the long run. If you consider the advantages of following an online degree; such as being able to study from home at a time convenient to you, work while studying and earn your course fees etc.
it is much better to pursue your degree online where the course work would be the same as any traditional university course.

Pros And Cons Of The Mares Icon HD Dive Computer
The Mares Icon HD dive computer may not be the cheapest dive computer on the market, but the true HD color display makes it one of the only dive computer models on the market to feature this advanced viewing screen, offering full-color maps that are visible, even under water! Besides the obvious benefits of the HD-LCD display with thin film transistor, also known as TFT, what are the other pros and cons you can expect to discover with this dive computer watch?
Features:
The features are probably the biggest pros of this product, besides the fact it is made by Mares, which is a leading manufacturer for the diving community.
You get easy to read large icons, a 3 ½ inch screen and innovative software, which offers a map and picture function, besides the double diving mode options for extended or profile. Besides storing your images and dive site maps, you can take advantage of more than 100 hours of dive logging and with the rechargeable lithium batteries, its low maintenance cost and manufacturer's warranty allow you to just enjoy the vivid color display.
Actual User Reviews: If you consider what actual customers have to say about the Mares Icon HD dive computer, the pros outweigh the cons. It's hard not to love the large colorful display that allows you to review your dive while underwater or you can take advantage of the compass and see the depth measurements clearly.
Users report that functions that allow you to log your multiple daily logs, also allow you to download the log book from the Icon, giving you a record of your dives. Appearance: This dive computer features a sporty black watch band, besides the sporty wide framed display that is truly like wearing a personal high-def computer screen on your wrist.
The multiple-colored readings, graphics and numbers make it easy to read the device above the water's surfaces and offers ease of use for when you are in the murky depths.
Are There Any Cons? The Mares Icon HD Dive Computer isn't for amateurs that aren't serious about their diving electronics.
Like many other dive computers, you can expect to pay around $1,000, making it too expensive for those that are occasional partakers in scuba diving adventures.
On the other hand, it is not any more expensive than comparable models, although it is the only one of the market with the HD display. There can be a glitch with logging your dives, but it doesn't seem to be a serious problem because it might be user errors, encountered when first utilizing the various functions. With the manufacturer's warranty and a little exposure to the function buttons, this isn't a con that can't be overcome.
It offers plenty of useful features, but not so many that it can't be figured out by the average user.
Conclusion: This model of dive computer has taken "display" to the next level and it is an easy-to-use device, once you learn the basic four-button functionality. For the more serious and frequent scuba diving community, the Mares Icon HD Dive Computer will offer a helpful accounting of your dives and offer colorful maps and compass or depth functions underwater, which is when you need them the most!

Virtualization solutions can be important for any business, but it's difficult to understand how they can really help you. The word "virtualization" has become a buzzword that is batted about between businesses all around the country.
When most people use this word, however, they often mean a whole lot more than what they say.
This article aims to clear up the clouds that surround this word and provide you with some solid information about what "virtualization solutions" actually are. What Is Virtualization? To start things off, virtualization is actually a very broad term that is often incorrectly used. It has become a popular term to throw around, but most people don't know what it really means.
The term virtualization is an umbrella term that means creating virtual resources (storage, applications, hardware, and more) that are easier and faster to manage than their physical counterparts.
What Do People Really Mean When They Say "Virtualization?" When people use the term "virtualization," they are most often referring to server virtualization.
Server virtualization is one of the most common ways that businesses are consolidating their IT resources into a more cost-effective and manageable solution.
How Does Server Virtualization Work? Traditionally, a server was a machine dedicated to single process or application, so if your company needed to add another application it would have to purchase another server.
Most servers that were configured in this manner were drastically underutilized, with approximately 60% of them working at their optimal capacity.
Server virtualization solutions have redefined the picture, however.
Instead of dedicating a server to a single purpose, server virtualization allows your business to partition the machine, creating several virtual servers on one physical server.
Not only has this reduced the amount of servers a company requires, it has also helped with IT management and business continuity. Why You Need Virtualization Simplified IT Management Reduced Cost of Infrastructure Alleviated Internal Resource Pressure Businesses and individuals are quickly realizing that virtualization solutions offer them a tremendous business advantage.
Rather than using an increasing amount of storage space and hiring even more IT professionals to keep up with server sprawl, businesses are efficiently condensing their information architecture in a way that is easier to manage and far more cost-effective.
Reducing the number of physical servers will help you cut costs while actually improving the efficiency of your business.
Downtime used to be something that plagued companies-halting business progress and bringing productivity to a dead stop. But virtualization solutions grant companies the ability to avoid downtime by migrating their software and information before the work begins.
Go Even Further With Data Centers Traditionally, companies were forced to house all their IT resources on their own premises. This meant that companies not only needed additional space to store the equipment, they also needed an army of IT professionals to keep everything up and running.
These used to be necessary costs for maintaining any modern business, but fortunately that's no longer true. Data centers provide businesses with cost effective alternatives for nearly all of their IT needs. Whether it's for virtualization solutions, cloud computing, management services, or more-data centers provide companies with an easy way to outsource their IT needs that will help them save money.

Things to Consider When Buying Kid's Toys
Are you planning to buy your children some toys? Perhaps you are having second thoughts on what toy you should buy.
If this is your dilemma, then do not worry anymore! This article will guide you on the things that you need to consider when buying kid's toys.
1.
Consider the age of the child.
Considering the age of the child to whom you are going to give the toy is of utmost importance.
You need to assess what kind of toys will most likely fit the developmental stage of the child.
For instance, since toddlers tend to put everything in their mouth, you should not buy toys that have any detachable pieces that they may be able to swallow. On the other hand, you need to buy more complex designed toys for older children to match their developmental stage.
2.
Consider the interests of the child.
If the child is fond of animals, you can buy him stuffed toys of his favorite animals.
If a child dreams to become a doctor someday, you may buy him a doctor play set.
Choosing toys that they like will definitely bring joys to their hearts and smile on their lips.
3. Check the overall package value of the toy.
Think of the benefits that the child will get from playing with the toy that you will buy.
Aside from their entertainment value, try to check if the toys can also develop their cognitive and social skills. Of course, you want to get the best toy that's worth your money.
If a toy can offer a lot of advantages to a child, then it is worth the bucks you pay. 4.
Make sure to choose budget-friendly toys. There is definitely a wide array of toy choices that are of good quality and at the same time, easy on the budget. You do not need to buy the most expensive models to make a child happy. Cultivate the value of being thrifty to your child so that he'll learn to value savings and wise spending of money.
5.
Spend some time to play it with your child.
Once you already bought a new toy for your child, try to spend a little time to play with it with them.
No matter how sophisticated the toy you bought is, nothing beats the joy of being able to play with a real person.
Make your child feel that he is loved and cared for by spending time with them.

Choosing the Right Kid's Painting School
Kid's painting school is not designed for every child.
Of course we all think our little angels do wonderful drawings, but the children that attend kid's painting school have talents that are well beyond those of the average student.
At a kid's painting school your child will learn to appreciate depth in their work, and they will learn how to improve on the talents that they have. These children are born talented, but the instructors at the kid's painting school you send them to will have basic skills they can teach these young prodigies.
When you begin looking or an educational institution that will help to further the talents of your gifted child you have to choose carefully. The right facility will help your child grow and develop and the wrong facility could very well hinder their development and cause them to lose interest in the art world. Research the facility and all of the instructors that will have daily contact with your child. You want to know where the instructors were educated and what gives them the right to educate children in this type of setting.
You want a detailed report on criminal backgrounds of everyone that is working on the campus your child will be attending. You need to look into how the institution goes about choosing the children they will accept. Remember that these are private institutions and not all children are accepted to them. These institutions will normally have tests to see if the individual is talented enough to attend their classes. Do not be discouraged if your kid cannot get into the first school that you apply them to.
There are many different schools and each one of them has different people judging the applications. A Rembrandt is beautiful to one person and in the eyes of another person the work is disappointing.
The large amount of rejections that these facilities must make each year is why you should choose no less than ten different ones that you wish to send your child to.
Start with your most desired campus and then progressively apply to all other campuses that you think might be suitable.
Some students start at a facility that was rather low on their list of prospective institutions and then later they reapply to their top picks and are accepted. Never give up the dream or the hope you have for your child's future in the world of art. You may have to relocate in order for your student to live close enough to a school that teaches the classes they need to attend. Many parents of gifted children have to move from their hometowns in order to give their children the opportunity to expand their talents.
Some families have one parent move with the child prodigy and the other parent remains at home rearing the other children of the family and taking care of the family home.
Some families simply send the child to live in a boarding school type facility and the parents remain at home.

Professor Rubik is Back With the Rubik's 360
Professor Erno Rubik is back, and has possibly created his greatest challenge ever - the amazing and extremely difficult Rubik's 360.
Relying more on physics than maths, on which the record breaking Rubik's Cube was based, Rubik's 360 is sure to challenge even the most dextrous and skilled of users. Rubik's 360 is made of 3 slightly different sized spheres which are set within each other, and starts with 6 small coloured balls set within the inner globe.
The challenge is to manoeuvre these balls into the sealable pockets that are set on the outermost sphere. Sounds easy, but when you consider that there are only 2 holes in the Rubik's 360 that they can sent through, and one false move or shake of the hand can send the balls tumbling away again, this game will probably be one of the most addictive ever invented. Rubik's 360 is true to the inventor's favourite colours of yellow, red, white, orange, blue and green which he uses as the colours of the balls and pockets. Launching worldwide in August 2009, Rubik's 360 is likely to be top of millions of kids' wish lists for Christmas - and on a few adults as well! Some lucky people have already got their hands on a sample, and as with the cube it can take minutes, days or never! As a product that does not require batteries or electrical power of any sort - other than that supplied by a human brain - Rubik's 360 is just the sort of toy needed to brighten up the life of anyone from 8 to 80!

SPSS Help - An Introduction to Using SPSS
Need SPSS help? This article is a brief introduction to the program. SPSS, also known as PASW (Predictive Analytic Software), is a program that works with statistics.
It is a popular program for those doing research, analyzing data, and working on thesis projects.
Since SPSS and statistics go hand in hand, you should know about statistics. Statistics is a set of mathematical techniques that can be used to summarize research data and determine whether or not the data supports the researcher's hypothesis.
When working with any type of research, there are specific stages each individual should expect to complete. The first stage is planning and designing stage which will take place before launching SPSS. During this phase, you will focus on a specific area of research, develop a hypothesis, and identify a sample population to conduct your research on.
The second stage is collecting data. Field work such as making observations and handing out surveys and questionnaires are common in this stage.
The data collected will be input into SPSS for interpretation.
The third stage, analyzing data, and the fourth stage, reporting, are the only stages when SPSS will be used. Analyzing data will consist of running different types of tests while reporting will include writing some type of finished paper or report. To begin working with SPSS, first launch the program.
These instructions assume you're working with the program on a computer with a Windows operating system.
Please note that individual steps may vary.
To begin, click the start button in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
Point the mouse to all programs.
Point to SPSS Inc.
then to PASW Statistics 17 (or whichever version of the program is installed on your computer).
Click PASW Statistics 17 to launch the program.
Once the program has launched, a PASW Statistics 17 dialog box will appear. Click the cancel button to close this window.
This will place you inside a blank data file titled "Untitled1".
For those viewing SPSS for the very first time, the program interface may be overwhelming. In actuality, it is not much more difficult to use than your average spreadsheet program.
We will now review the interface so you can get a grasp on how to navigate through your files.
Like all programs, the top bar comprises the title bar that displays the program running and the file name being worked on.
Towards the top right of the window, are the buttons to minimize, maximize/restore, and close our program window. Directly below the title bar is the menu bar which groups the program functions into groups of common features with an inner working of submenus and options to analyze our data. Below the menu bar is the tool bar, an array of commonly used features derived from the menu bar conveniently placed in clear view for easy access and usage.
Do the rows and columns in the program window remind you of another program interface? SPSS uses rows and column in much the same way Excel does. In SPSS, by default each column is labeled "var" which is short for variable.
The variables are the survey items or the questions you will ask respondents.
Each row of the spreadsheet corresponds to a case.
A case will contain all of the responses for each participant in your survey, questionnaire, etc. Whereas Excel can have an unlimited number of tabs, SPSS is limited to just two: data view and variable view.
These two tabs are visible in the lower left hand portion of the SPSS window.
The data view tab is where users will input the raw data collected from surveys, questionnaires, observations, or other forms of collection.
The variable view tab can be thought of as a management window.
It is where variables are defined.
In this tab, you will assign variable names, types, and choose the corresponding attributes.
The variable type will determine how cases are entered. The string type is used when responses will consist of "strings" of characters or in other words, "words".
Use the string type for recording variables such as respondents' names. The numeric type can be used when numeric responses are anticipated.
Variables such as GPA and age will often use a numeric type. Another variable type is named dollar.
This type will be used with variables such as salary or cost.
There are other variable types such as date and scientific notation.
Assign these types when recording dates and numbers in scientific notation, respectively.
In variable view, users are also able to assign a variable label. In this cell, enter a phrase explaining what the variable is for.
You can also enter your survey question.
A variable label is optional.
After assigning variable names, types, and labels for each of the variables in your survey or questionnaire, users can begin to input data to analyze. Remember to save your data file often by going to the file menu then clicking on save.
SPSS uses its own file type called a ".
sav" file.
Create and store a backup copy of your file on a flash drive or external hard drive in case of emergency. Although this article won't go over specifics of individual tests and analyses, bear in mind that results of tests will appear in a separate sub-program section called the output window.
All the results such as the tables or charts in the output window must be saved separately. If you close SPSS and do not save the results of your output window, you will have to re-create all the charts, tables, etc. So be sure to save any results in a separate ".
spv" file.

The Magical Feeling of Receiving a Letter From Santa
If their is one thing that everybody remembers, the one common thread that everyone seems to have, its Santa Clause.
With Santa, all kinds of great things are possible.
Even though we have never really seen him with our own two eyes in person, the magic he brings is like nothing else we know.
To a child, Santa instills hope and a sense of excitement and enchantment. For a child, there is no time to get caught up in contemplating whether or not Santa is really a make believe myth or if he is actually real. The truth is, he is real in a magical form - Hope.
Every year children write a Letter to Santa in hopes that he will bring them their most beloved material wishes and place them under the tree .
..
but what if they get a Letter from Santa in return? Can you imagine the gleam in their eyes, the smile that covers their entire face and the incredible magic that would light up your child's very soul to solidify with physical proof the reality that Santa does exist - A Letter from Santa himself.
Children have an amazing capacity to enjoy the little things in life that really brings hope and humility into focus.
Santa Clause is the epitome of all things hopeful and the undeniable reality that the very name - Santa - is magical.
Receiving a Letter from Santa is much more to a child than just a letter they get in the mail. A Letter from Santa is proof that Santa is out there, that he does actually exist and he is watching over them. He is taking notes on their good behavior, and that he does hear their wishes, and reads their letters. And all of this culminates on Christmas morning when wide gleaming eyes and broad smiling faces rise early to once again discover that the mystical and magical Santa has not let them down.
He did show up, just as he said in his letter that he would.
For a child, it just does not get any better than Christmas morning.
Getting a personalized Letter from Santa is a very powerful experience for a child. It reinforces that this is not just any old letter someone scribbled out and sent in the mail. Kids tend to be a bit more wise and perceptive to things like this. But with the right personalization information in the letter, such as landmarks near their home, the names of their friends and their pets, their hometown and even their cute little nickname that only their family and friends know about, suddenly the Letter From Santa becomes real.
Things that the child can directly relate to adds validity and puts their stamp of approval on the letter.
Oh yes, now Santa knows their cute little nickname too.
..
Children are so impressed and get so excited to see that Santa himself actually knows so much about them.
Even things they asked for in their Christmas wish list (something they don't realize their parents also know about).
All of this instills in the child that yes, Santa is real and he is coming to visit them again this year, just like he has every year, and will come every year from now on.
The child's writing to Santa is truly a magical experience that they will cherish for years to come! But to get a response to their letter, in an actual Letter From Santa that they can see and hold in their hand, that actually has Santa's name on it, is a lifetime keepsake and a lifetime memory that the parents can see and watch unfold right before their very eyes.
Kids will remember and talk about their Letter from Santa for many years to come. And most likely, for a lifetime.

Maintaining Kids' Toys
It's a fact that the life expectancy of kids toys are short but we have to face the reality; with the high pricing cost of basic commodities nowadays it is really not practical for us to buy toys frequently to replace broken ones. It is therefore important that we teach our kids how to maintain their toys.
We know that at one point those toys will be broken but what we could do is to extend the life span of those toys. We should start by keeping track of how many and what kinds of toys of our kids have. Let us have a record which contains information such as when we bought it and when it was broken.
You could also include when a toy is lost or if it would be found. It is like a record of incoming and outgoing toys from our kid So why do we need to have a record? From our record we could easily find out details.
How long one toy does lasts in my kid? How frequent do we buy them toys? The record would tell the toy-playing-and-breaking-pattern of our kids.
The next step is to watch our kids when they play with their toys. We should observe closely if our kids intentionally break their toys. Sometimes, kids do this because they seek attention from us and they see toys as platform to release pent up emotions. Once this is the case, it is better that we spend more quality time with our kids In some cases, kids' toys will get damaged because they played it too much, which is not really bad but if this happens frequent, we should talk to our kids and tell them the value of their toys.
It is never too early to teach our children responsibility We could tell them that taking care of their toy is like us taking care of them.
But let us be worthy models for our kids.
If our kids see us not organized with our own stuff how could they follow us if we do not practice what we preach? We should remember that maintaining kids' toys is a process, take it one step at a time. We should start by having a "toy box" where our kids will place their toy once they finish playing with it.
Another good way on promoting to our kids how to take care of their toys is taking part of their "toy maintenance" like joining them when they are wiping their toys wit when it gathered dust. We should make them feel that they could have fun when they maintain their toys. To sum it up, we must remember that we do not just leave toys to our kids for them to play with until they get broken then we would but them new one. Let us play with our kids and be a part of their lives. One best way to inculcate to our kids the value of responsibility is when we established good relationship with them which is could develop when we join them play and maintain their toys.

The Ultimate Spelling Teacher - Scrabble
In modern times of computer technologies artificial intelligence can do lots of things for us. It can calculate numbers in seconds, provide us with any formulas needed in seconds, check our spelling, etc.
Having all these conveniences all the time makes us helpless when we can't use computers in the life that we live. Even our children can easily work with computers and sometimes they use the computer and mouse much earlier then a pen and paper.
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
There are certain advantages and disadvantages.
The fact is that our kids do not need to training on their spelling and this is really bad.
I think you would agree that having perfect grammar and spelling provides you with lots of bonuses in career choices and it trains your brain. So, how can you make you children more competent in this field? The best decision is to let them learn through playing.
The best game to improve spelling is scramble.
It seems to me everyone knows the rules and how to play.
The most important thing is to use the game with an educational aim.
This wonderful board game can be played by two or more players. So, the best solution is to play with the entire family.
In the popular "Simpsons" movie we can see them playing scrabble.
There may be a need to repeat the rules to avoid misunderstandings and choose the vocabulary you are directing towards.
Knowledge of all the rules and selecting the dictionary you want to use can help you avoid mistakes.
Another important detail to consider may be to choose a prize for the winner.
It does not have to be a very big prize.
For example, you might select a cake.
There must be certain encouragement to score more points! Prepare other prizes for every member of the game to make the entire game a pleasure for everyone.
Sometimes we teach our children to think of themselves as of winners.
It's not a very good decision and there are a few factors to confirm this statement.
At first, our kids are smart and clever enough to understand that we are teaching them.
But they need to know that you are teaching them to try and to succeed but you will not be disappointed if they do not win.
It is about trying. Take your time and teach your child how to play scrabble. He or she will be learning how to spell and everyone will be having a good time. After all, we all know that playing a game and having fun can help us learn much faster.
It also hides the lesson in fun experiences that everyone will remember for a long time.
You will find hundreds of board games out there and all of them have some value but scrabble, is the ultimate.
Your child learns while having fun, what more can you ask for!

Help - My Preteen-Teenager is Driving Me Nuts!
Do you feel like someone has abducted your sweet, innocent child and replaced them with a monster? Are you confused that somehow you have gone from knowing everything as a parent, to knowing absolutely nothing? Welcome to being a parent of a preteen/teenager.
It is a brave new world. Being a preteen/teenager is difficult and being a parent of one is difficult as well. In this article, I will address just a few of the many "normal" aspects of adolescence and how to survive as a parent.
I have been a therapist for over 18 years now and have seen hundreds of adolescents. If I had a dollar for every time a parent said to me, "If I talked the way my kids talk to me when I was a child I wouldn't be able to get off the floor.
" I would be rich. Yes, talking back is normal.
I also quickly add not acceptable. Our society through TV programs and in general does not show respect. Most sitcoms delight in making the parents look like idiots, gone are the days of the strong parents like the Cosby family.
So, our society does not show respect and our children model that with us.
Another normal aspect of preteen/teenagers is to think their parents know very little due to us growing up with dinosaurs or at least without VCRS much less DVD players, anyway.
Most adolescents get all their information from their peers, who unfortunately don't always give good advice. Acting like a "baby" one minute and an "adult" the next is extremely common.
It is an extremely confusing time for them. Part of them craves the security and the easiness of childhood and another part "needs" the freedom and independence of being adult (they often forget the responsibility part). So, as a parent you are never really sure who you are talking to at any given moment.
Do I have the "baby" who wants my support or am I talking to the "adult" who wants to make his or her own decisions? We often pick the wrong one.
So, what can a parent due to survive? In my e-book, "Help My Preteen/Teenager Is Driving Me Nuts!!!" I list several strategies.
Here are a few of those strategies. 1. When your child is talking back.
Do not engage in conversation with them and certainly do not do something special for them, like taking them to the mall. 2. Try not to give unsolicited advice. I'm not saying quit parenting all together, but advice is often listened to more when your child asks for it.
3.
Make sure you spend time listening to your children. Take any opportunity even if it is at 11:00pm to listen when your child is willing to talk.
4.
Talk to the parents of your child's friends and have a curfew that everyone agrees on.
There is strength in numbers for parents as well.
Then, you can say not "everyone" gets to stay out later than your child.
5.
Talk to other parents for support.
Often, when our children are small we share a lot with other parents.
Sometimes, when our children get to be teenagers we keep silent.
It really helps to know you are not the only parent having a difficult time.
In conclusion, it is tough being a teenager and a parent of one, but everyone involved can survive.
Remember the favorite phrase, "This too shall pass.
" You didn't think your children would ever get out of diapers and now look, they are teenagers. Teenagers still need you, so stay involved in their lives. Learn about their friends and be willing to listen at anytime.
Also, remember some of their seemingly strange quirks are really quite normal. © 2005 Kimberly Chastain

It's Our Duty
Each generation has an obligation to mentor and nurture the generation that follows it.
By doing so, wisdom is passed from one generation to the next.
In most cases, this is a typical occurrence; however, there seems to be one area that is sorely neglected when it comes to sharing with successive generations - Godly wisdom.
Families don't typically sit down and have Bible studies at home or pray together.
In fact, families don't even normally attend church.
A recent survey found that only 20.
4% of American families attend church on a regular basis.
That's like 1 in 5 people! Really? So, herein lies the dilemma - if the families aren't studying about God's word at home and the vast majority of American's don't attend church regularly, how will this next generation learn about God? They won't get it from the TV; they won't get it from CDs; they won't get it from the Internet; they just won't get it. And who is to blame - each generation before it. Personally, I lived in church - Sunday school, choir, usher board.
But, my children aren't half as involved as I was.
In fact they complain when they have to go outside of Sunday morning.
And if they have those attitudes, what will they pass on to the generation following them? So, in actuality, how far away are we from a completely Godless generation - maybe not that far unless we step up.
Clearly, there is a call to minister to the spiritual needs of today's youth.
But in order to teach them, we must first reach them.
What worked for our parents and us, won't work for this new generation often referred to as the Millennial Generation or Gen-Y. We have to engage them in a way, which is relevant for them.
For instance, this generation relies heavily on technology; therefore, they are more likely to have a Bible app than an actual Bible.
They communicate via text and IM, so emailing daily devotionals may not be extremely effective. Phone calls are all but obsolete; however, Skype is a highly favored alternative. Regardless as to how we get the message across, we need to get it across.
We must reach them so we can teach them. It's imperative that we train the generation after us, so they can train up those after them.
If we don't, we have only ourselves to blame.

4 Alternatives To Consider To Replace Google Reader
We are saying the final goodbye to Google Reader. If you haven't found your perfect Reader by now, we are giving you 4 alternatives to consider.
This next RSS reader needs to be supported on desktop computers Android and iOS to be the perfect replacement.
1.
The Old Reader This reader is like a Google Reader replica. Switching to The Old Reader, you will notice the familiar layout and colours.
It has even the same social features that Google Reader had.
You can use XML upload and import all of your Google Reader subscriptions. Unfortunately, there are no mobile OS apps available for this RSS reader.
2. Curata Reader We have examined so many RSS readers and Curata came as the cleanest. It offers a large amount of white space separated with lines. It has a clear and attractive interface with great icons and animations.
However, it lacks more features. Looking to see what's new on the feed, Curata gives you all recent posts from the required site plus those that have been already read. Some users will find this feature great but many will not.
No mobile apps yet, but Curata has promised that great update will follow through in near future. 3.
Feedly Feedly is your best choice among the others.
It's really fast and choosing it will give you the option to import your data from Google Reader using a one-click synchronization feature.
Feedly has become a cloud-based RSS reader and it's now accessible from all browsers.
You can search for specific site names, URLs and topics and subscribe like the Google Reader. Sharing options with Google+, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are available too.
It has great and easy-to-handle interface and it is simple like Google. Unlike the others, Feedly have both Android and iOS apps.
4.
AOL Reader AOL Reader is a definition for an organizational interface.
Everything is placed in the right order and you can choose how to look at headlines.
The options are card view for viewing your headlines in many columns, full view and split screen view.
It has almost the same keyboard shortcuts as Google Reader.
This RSS reader is available only in beta version but you will be able to enjoy all the benefits.
There aren't mobile apps available and you will not be able to import Google Reader's data unless you upload your OPML file right from Google Takeout. There are other RSS versions that could be helpful but we think that these are the best in their business.
This next RSS reader needs to be supported on desktop computers Android and iOS to be the perfect replacement.

NCLEX-RN Made Extraordinarily Easy
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) develops the NCLEX-RN examinations for those who want to qualify for entry level nursing, but it's administered by a local testing service.
The NCSBN members consist of practicing nurses, educators and regulators. Anyone taking this exam needs to realize that testing is about basic nursing intervention and not practical nursing.
An exam that takes up to six hours whether it is considered basic or not is no "walk in the park" for those who want to pass.
It takes a lot of preparation to sit through such intense questioning.
Of course, the testing candidate of the NCLEX-RN exam will get a break after the two hour mark, but then there are optional breaks that if taken, will count as part of the testing time.
Talk about intense and anxiety-filled.
This is what Omar thought when he walked into the exam for the first time.
If you dropped a pin everyone would look up at you.
To top that all, after testing has been completed, each candidate is asked to complete a questionnaire about how they would rate the test.
FIVE TO SIX HOURS OF NCLEX-RN MADE SIMPLE Before Omar took the NCLEX-RN exam, he had to apply for a nursing license from the state board of nursing.
He was then told that he was eligible by meeting the criteria that the board put in place. He then registered to take the exam and received an ATT (authorization to take the test) in the mail shortly after.
He had to pay an exam fee of $200.
Omar did not want to have to take this exam twice because he would be out $200 bucks and that was no small change for him.
So Omar began his research to find if there was any study guides that would get him heavily prepared for this NCLEX-RN exam.
As a GN (Graduated Nurse), Omar had done well in the classroom, but he knew that this would not guarantee that he would pass the test. He wanted a test prep course that took six hours of exam questions and made it simple.
He had heard some of other GN talking about it, but as soon as they saw him coming, there was a hushed silence so he knew he had to find out by himself. NCLEX-RN BOOKS, GUIDES AND MORE Omar saw so many books, guides and all kinds of "advertising touting" websites that promise so much and don't seem to be able to deliver as much as they indicate.
Omar waded through the heavy traffic of books until something interesting caught his eyes.
He found the NCLEX-RN study guide that promised to make the exam extraordinarily easy. Omar did some more research and found testimonials written that were able to peak his interest even more. Omar took the plunge and bought the course and to his delight it was exactly what he was looking for. Omar was able to be fully prepared by the time he had to take the NCELX-RN exam and in the end he was successful in his first attempt.
You can do what Omar did and get your hands on the NCELX-RN exam guide so that you too can get the best results on your first try.

Video Streaming Performance Metrics
Video traffic has become the dominant component of Internet as well as mobile networks in the recent years and is expected to continue - applications include video calls (e.
g., FaceTime, Skype), video conferencing (e.
g.
, Cisco's Telepresence, Skype), video chat, and video streaming (e.
g.
, YouTube, Netflix). All of us had many times satisfaction issues with video applications over the network.
One is with the picture quality or resolution of the video itself - e.
g.
, NTSC versus HD quality which has mainly to do with the encoding.
For a given picture quality, the other equally important aspect is the delivery quality.
We will focus here on the delivery quality with reference to video streaming.
We will try here to define a measure like the response time for data applications.
Note that video streaming uses TCP/IP protocol and there should not be any corruption in the bits delivered.
The metrics that count for the video quality delivery are the following: 1. Start time of the video after initiation 2.
Number of pauses during the video 3. Start time of the first pause 4.
Time to recover from each pause The overall testing duration of the video stream (D) has to be stated along with the actual length of the video program (L). Although a particular video stream could be anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours long, the test duration itself cannot be much shorter - say 10 minutes for a 2 hour stream.
It is rare that any person would continue to watch the video of a 2-hour hour duration if the delivery quality is poor for a sustained period of 10 minutes or more.
The above metrics should also be stated along with the environment - video source or provider, and the receiving device details (hardware and software versions) - laptop/PC, Tablet, Smartphone, Roku, Wii etc. A composite quality parameter could possibly be defined using the above four parameters after normalizing with the test duration or full duration of the video.
One way of expressing the video quality is to simply add up the start time, combined duration of all pauses and divide it by the duration of the video stream. For example, a 10 min video tested for its entire duration may have an initial start time of 1 min and 1 pause of 1 min somewhere in the middle. We can say that the video quality is (1-1/10-1/10-1*1/10) or 70%. Here we are not yet using the third parameter.
One way to use the third parameter is to give more credit if the first pause occurs towards the end rather than right near the beginning. But note that for each pause that is counted we are deducting 1 extra minute. If we can understand the impact each of the above four parameters on the perception of video quality by the user, it might turn out that the parameters may have to be weighted non-uniformly.
For example, a long starting delay may be less tolerable than a pause in the middle.
Or a pause that occurs toward the end of the video stream may be less annoying than the one that occurs near the beginning. We can come up with a more realistic score similar to the mean-opinion-score (MOS) used for voice quality - let us call it Video MOS or VMOS.
Measuring VMOS may be a challenge as it would take enormous testing time if done manually. The user himself may not be able to measure those time intervals. Hence we would expect the device itself to have the capability to collect the above parameters and also provide the final VMOS score for each video clip.
The VMOS scores for each streaming can be stored on the device itself or in the cloud for data mining. A measure similar to VMOS can be used for audio streaming especially applicable for audios streamed over mobile connections (e.
g., Pandora or Bloomberg radio).
Providing the highest VMOS will be equally important to all the stakeholders (content providers, network owners, and device manufacturers). The content providers may have a little more at stake (e.
g., Netflix) and hopefully take the initiative to spearhead defining a standardized VMOS in the industry.

The Power of Peer Pressure
A couple of years ago I read an article that stated squarely that no matter what parents teach their children, at the end of the day, friends will determine their destiny. My eyebrows raised and as I pondered and tossed around the finality of the statements in the article, I decided finally that this phenomenon cannot hold true and has been proven wrongly by all the great thinkers of the world; to name one, James F.
Cooper.
.
.
"All greatness of character is dependent on individuality. The man who has no other existence than that which he partakes in common with all around him will never have any other than an existence of mediocrity." The responsibility therefore rests on us, both parents and educators, to teach youth the power of individualism, excellence and the power of peer pressure, the kind that raises benchmarks.
Teenagers are exposed to peer pressure every day, both kinds; good and bad.
Nobody is immune and it is essential for teenagers to possess the ability to decipher and resist.
Are teenagers equipped with the tools necessary to avoid succumbing and yielding to the wrath and turmoil associated with negative peer pressure? (alcohol, drugs, teasing, smoking) That is the real challenge for parents and teens.
As youths explore at this most impressionable age, one wants to ensure that they are secure, strong, highly confident and that they understand the benefits of entertaining discussions without actually accepting everything in order to fit in.
Essentially, it is important that teenagers have their own set of standards, and yearn to demand excellence and quality of themselves and others.
A great way to instill this is by enforcing mutual respect between family members at home and encouraging discussions about the possibility and effects of standing alone and even being excluded by not yielding to 'bad' peer pressure.
Not all peer pressure is a negative thing. There is power in peer pressure once teenagers have the ability to make good, selective choices with regards to friends and decisions, in effect the ability to decipher, think and own one's own mind.
Friends sometimes raise benchmarks in achieving goals and this is good peer pressure in one's journey to success, a journey that is decided by each teenager.
So as everyone progresses along, teenagers and adults, there will be great resistance at times.
Always remember that opposition usually comes from the mediocre thinkers. It is crucial that one does not succumb to such majorities to ensure and secure one's very own freedom and success.

Modern HC industry Health care careers are on the rise.
The baby-boomer generation from the 40's through the 60's (some 80 million+ individuals in North America alone) are now getting older, and the added requirement to provide health care for a booming population has caused the HC profession to skyrocket into one of the largest and most vital of service industries.
Such is the importance of HC to the world today (with health related issues increasing in numbers with old age) that many related qualifications require less than a year to attain- as compared to a few decades ago when health care education took years to complete.
Online HC education Mature students and professionals wishing to undertake education and training in any of the fields in HC today have a host of options when it comes to learning online while juggling their families and jobs.
There are over 5000 degrees, associate degrees and certifications (accredited) for allied HC professions now available online from some of the 2000 institutions that Health care education online.
Allied HC education is also the most popular field of education pursued online as well, with many professionals using such courses to attain CME credits or to diversify their practice portfolios.

Plan Your Perfect Prom Night With This Month by Month Countdown Checklist
Three months before the prom:
Window Shop: Begin looking at dresses.
Get ideas from magazines, online stores and while you are out shopping.
Tear out pictures of dresses in magazines that you like. Bring your camera shopping and take photos of the dresses that spark an interest.
Budget: How much are you willing to spend? Are your parents helping out in anyway? If not, then you'll need to figure how much time you'll need to work in order to pay for everything.
Write down all the things that you can think of and include their costs. Try to stick to your budget as much as possible.
Date: Who are you going with? Whether it's someone you like, your best guy friend, or even your girlfriends, It doesn't matter who you go with just make sure it's someone that you know you'll have fun with! Two Months Before the Prom: Buy Your Prom Dress: You have finally found the dress of your dreams, so the next step of course is to buy it! You'll want to purchase it at least two months in advance so you'll have plenty of time for alterations.
This is especially true if you are ordering your dress online. You can find some great bargains online, but the disadvantage is you won't be able to try it on. By allowing the extra time, you can send back the wrong size, get the correct one and still have time for alterations.
Shoes: Once you have your dress, its time to get those shoes! Remember, you are going to be dancing all night so you'll want make sure that nothing on the shoe will end up digging into your skin such as buckles, straps, etc.
You may want to grab a pair of gel shoe inserts for added comfort.
Get your bra: Is your dress halter style? Strapless? If so, you will need a certain kind of bra to go with that style of dress so your bra and straps remains invisible while giving you support at the same time. When you do find a bra that you think will work, make sure to try it on with your dress when you get home.
TiP: Fashion or Garment tape is a great thing to have for any fashion fix.
Have Your Alterations Done: Your seamstress will be busy at this time of the year with other prom dresses as well, so make sure you book early.
Don't forget to bring the shoes and the bra that you will be wearing with the dress on your initial appointment. Make Appointments: Book any Hair, waxing, and nail treatments now just to make sure your favorite people are available during the dates that you need them.
Three Weeks Before the Prom: Purchase your hair accessories and jewelry Shop for a small clutch purse - You don't have to get the same color as your dress.
For instance, if you are wearing a red prom dress you can buy a silver, pewter or gold clutch.
Order Your Date's Boutonniere Two Weeks Before: Dress Rehearsal: Try your dress, shoes, bra and jewelry on to make sure everything works together.
Break In Those Shoes: It's good to wear your new shoes around the house to stretch them out a bit. If you think they are still a little too snug, take them to a shoe repair shop and have them stretched out a little bit on one of their shoe stretchers. Prom Day: Pick up your date's boutonniere.
Pack your purse: Don't forget makeup, money, tickets, license or school I.D., small camera, band-aids (for any blisters that you may get from dancing) and your phone.
Get Your Hair and Nails Done: If you are getting your hair styled then today is the day to be pampered! Eat Something: With all of the excitement don't forget to eat a light snack.

Test Your Fancy Nancy Trivia
Do you know Fancy Nancy? Well, if you are a 4 to 6 year old girl, you surely know who she is. Nancy, the creative brilliance of author Jane O'Connor, is a young girl who loves everything fancy. The original story book in the series, suitably titled "Fancy Nancy" spins the tale of Nancy, a pint-sized curly-auburn haired girl who loves to speak using fancy French words, dresses in fancy clothing, and loves just about any else that is fancy. Even Nancy's favorite doll is tres fancy - her doll's name, Marabelle, is short for Marabelle Lavinia Chandelier. Unfortunately the rest of Nancy's family is very plain.
Nancy even goes so far as to give her family lessons on the differences between plain and fancy.

plain, sunglasses.
..fancy! Nancy's signature clothing is a cow print leotard paired with a poodle skirt, fairy wings, cat-eye sunglasses, leg warmers, ballet slippers and a tiara. The unique and whimsical illustrations, by Robin Preiss Glasser, add to the delightful nature of these books.
In subsequent picture books in the Fancy Nancy series, including "Bonjour Butterfly", the "Posh Puppy" and "Explorer Extraordinaire", you meet Nancy's dog Frenchy and her best friend Bree. Jane O'Connor's inspiration for all of her books,, including the Fancy Nancy series, comes from her own life experiences, or those of her family.
Every Sunday afternoon, when Jane was about 4 or 5 years old, her grandmother and great aunts would come to visit Jane and her family.
"As soon as I heard the doorbell ring," Jane says, "I would race to my room, jump in my pink tutu, wrap a satin red cape around me, and come galoomphing out to greet my guests in a pair of my mom's high heels.
I wasn't a girlie-girl, but I felt it was important to look fancy for company.
" O'Connor was Fancy Jane long before she wrote Fancy Nancy.
What does being fancy mean to Nancy? It means frilly toothpicks in sandwiches, eating with your pinkies up, lace trimmed socks while playing soccer, and do-it-yourself canopies over her bed. Jane O'Connor's Fancy Nancy hysteria has blossomed into a growing series of picture books, I can read books, as well as Fancy Nancy gifts and merchandise such as dolls, doll clothes, puzzles, games, birthday party supplies, bedroom accessories and of course Fancy Nancy dress up clothes for little girls.

American Sign Language (ASL) History
American Sign Language is by far, the youngest organized and recognized language that we have on earth today.
That is just one of the unique aspect of this language.
The history of this language dates back to the early 18th century in France when a paris based priest Charles-Michel de l'Ãpée opened his heart, mind and fortune towards finding a way to bring his neighbour's twin deaf daughters into mainstream society. What made him unique from others in the field was his unbiased view of deafness as a unique disability rather than something that is the effect of a curse, as had been considered by people of those days. Until that time, deaf individuals were harshly trained to learn lip reading and the use of signs were prohibited in most schools. The emphasis of those times were to force the deaf individual to adjust with the mainstream society at any cost. Charles-Michel de l'Ãpée was an exception and his exceptional outlook towards deafness produced exceptional results also.
By 1750, his school soon became famous all over france and within a very short time became the "place to go" for any parent who wished their deaf child a humane treatment when it comes to education.
After his death, one of his close aide Abbe Sicard took over the management of the school.
He was equally or according to historians, more focussed than his predecessor who started the school.
The school turned famous to renowned during his time by the intellectual works of two of his two students who were in all aspects as competent as their hearing counterparts.
One of his deaf students Laurent Clerc wrote articles about complex subjects like philosophy and became respected in the community.
He later became a teacher in the school that trained him and in 1791 took over the leadership of the school.
Now, let's leave them in France and go to America where Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, who just completed a two year course in theology and was about to join church as a minister was requested by his neighbour to train his deaf daughter. With the help of her father and others from the community, he travelled to London where almost all of the schools that trained deaf were reluctant to disclose their methodology.
As he was going to leave London, he happened to meet Abbe Sicard who was touring London to showcase his methodology.
Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet met Abbe Sicard and that became a turning point in the history of American Sign Language.
Abbe Sicard was more than happy to teach Gallaudet and invited him to France.
In France, Gallaudet managed to convince Abbe Sicard to bring his brightest student Laurent Clerc to America. The American school for the deaf was established at Hartford in 1817 which was later became the now famous Gallaudet University.

Quality Home Care for Children With Special Needs
It's hard for parents to see their children suffer from a chronic illness or a special mental or medical condition.
And as much as we'd like to do our jobs as parents by always being there to take care, support and assist them throughout their years, we just can't always be physically strong to handle all the stress and the pressure.
We need a break once in a while and because of this, we look for another person whom we can trust to take care of our beloved special children. We look for someone who can provide professional care while at the same time, treat us as family because that's the only way we can assure ourselves that we have hired the right caregiver. Children with special needs are those with mild learning disabilities, terminal illness, developmental delays or any other physical or mental condition that hinders them from living normal lives.
They need more care and attention than most children do and home care is just the right set up for us to provide them with all the love and support that we can.
One important thing that we should remember is that children with special needs often react badly to stress.
When they see us frown or hear us shout, they can get really anxious to the point that provocative or aggressive behavior may arise. To prevent this from happening, we should try to give ourselves as much rest as possible and as less stress as possible.
How do we do that? We can hire home care providers.
They can substitute for us and help us deal with all these pressure.
To make home care work for us and our children, we should remember some important points.
To know what your children need, make sure that you let a doctor diagnose and assess them.
Listen to the doctor's advice and recommendations because they are crucial to your children's well-being. Approach to psychiatric or mental illness is different from approach to physical illness.
Whatever the doctor's finding is, accept it and be willing to do all that you can to help your child get better.
Some children need assistive technology or durable medical equipments to function in their everyday lives.
These equipment ranges from wheelchairs to communication devices. Find out what among these devices your children need and find ways on how to acquire them.
There are usually government benefits you can avail of in case you can't afford to get it yourself. Taking care of children with special needs requires a great deal of patience.
Home care providers won't be able to do everything themselves without the parents' cooperation. It may get really stressful at one point but remember that we are all doing this for our children and I think that is enough reason for us not to lose hope moreover lose our nerves.

The Baggy Pants Phenomenon
Being the parent of a teenager, a phenomenon I never imagined I would ever attain by the way, presents some challenging crimes of fashion along with my own perception of now being a person of some ancient generation. When I was in school, the emphasis was solely on tempering the hormones of teenage girls; yep, that would have been me, and the school administrators ordering us to lengthen our micro mini skirts, expand the material on those belly shirts and an across the board ban, no matter what the season or how hot the weather, on Daisy Mae shorts.
Now somehow the attention has shifted to the boys.
It is the pants they wear; the ones cinched to mid thigh position so that their walk is more like a penguin shuffle and their underwear has more exposure than baby diapers at the local beach club.
To bring even more "exposure" are the new laws right here in South Florida measuring the degree of impropriety in mere inches or perhaps now just a legal and perplexing conundrum.
Voters in excess of 70% opted to get the men and boys to pick up their pants either by perfecting a tighter fit, using a belt, trying a pair of suspenders or any make shift rope, twine, braid or expanded shoelace to hide the private parts pants were originally intended to hide.
In other words, can we bring back some propriety to our schools and sidewalks using governmental power? Based on measurements, police officers arrested a 29 year old man in Riviera Beach for exposure of undergarments in public, slung lower than 2 inches.
The first offense is punishable by a fine of $150.
00 and a second offense can even carry a 30 day jail sentence. I wonder if the one piece jumpsuit issued for jail are baggy? The custom of baggy pants originated from African culture and has become an exaggerated street fashion, but the impracticality really does make me yearn for my generation when pants used to fit and instead of using a thumb in a belt loop to keep the entire panorama of skivvies out of view, there would be khakis, board shorts, fitted jeans with the cute male behinds we ladies so used to admire.
Well, the fashion rebellion continues, and though I thankfully see less and less of the capacious cargoes, did it not take forever to get rid of rock 'n' roll, crew cuts, beehives, and thong bikinis? We did not need government intervention in the good old generation of the 1980's either, but it makes me wonder how long I would have been in jail for wearing short shorts and those wicked high heels.

Using Online Nursing Programs
Online nursing programs are becoming more popular as colleges try to accommodate more people, and more people search for ways to further their education.
With more people working their way through school it has become harder to fit classes into the work schedule.
Not every job is willing to work around a class schedule either.
That puts some in a hard spot of wanting to get classes, but needing to work.
There really wasn't an easy answer for this until the internet became a way of life for many.
With the internet they are able to take classes and still work a full-time schedule if they want to. There are still a couple of glitches with the online nursing programs.
Having a high-speed connection is one of them. Many of the online classes will require that you have a certain operating system (some might only work with particular servers) and they might also require that you have certain programs like Adobe Flash.
You could still run into problems if you have a dial-up connection even if you have everything else you need.
Some features might not work at all if you have a slow connection and that can make it a little more difficult for you.
There is a limit to the online nursing programs as well.
You will most likely not find a program for classes to start into nursing. These require so much for hands-on training that it would be impossible to do it with a web class.
What you most likely see is programs and classes to further your education after you have become a registered nurse.
The LPN classes and the RN classes require hands-on training to teach you certain skills you will need while working as a nurse. Because of this they will most likely not be found on the web. If you do find one, it will probably be a split class where you have your lectures on the computer but still have to go to the lab for so many hours as well.
It is much more likely that you will find some bachelor and associates degrees offered since these usually center on more of the science.
You might also find some different online nursing programs designed for different nursing positions. An example of this would be taking a cardiac course to learn more about it before taking a position in the cardiac rehabilitation unit.
As you can see, the possibilities are many.
There are a variety of different online nursing programs set up to help people.
While most of them are designed to help beginner nurses further their education while they get practical experience on the job that does not mean those will be the only ones you find.
There are also the split classes where part is on the computer and part is in a lab.
It all depends on what the colleges are capable of in your areas as to which they will offer.
Not every area will be able to offer the split classes, and some colleges are strictly internet universities that offer the higher level classes to those who are already nurses.
Remember when you are using these programs to ensure that they are accredited for the classes you want to take.
