Math Tutoring Online
When looking for a math online tutor it is important to ask a couple of key questions. Firstly, how much do you want to spend? And secondly, how much help are you requiring.
How Much Do You Want To Spend?
When it comes to price I look at it this way, don't go for the cheapest person because if you go for the cheapest then it is important to leave a bit extra for the risk you run. And if you are going to do that then you may as well pay for someone who can do the job in the first place.
Additionally you will need to look at the service you are getting for your money. Some math online tutors offer software with lessons included, others are one on one lessons. What's the length of the service? Ask if you can have a 15 minute free lesson to try out what it is they do. This can often help you decide if the service will tick all the boxes. Additionally the tutor may offer shorter lessons at a lower price. A tutor is not only helping you with maths they are helping your over all confidence and should teach you skills such as exam and assignment skills. Shop around to find a deal that best caters for your family's needs.
How Much Help Are You Requiring?
Pretty easy really, are you looking for someone to develop your skills over the term or semester? Or, are you looking for a quick overnight study session with a tutor there to help you out?
Most math online tutors will offer both; however the other decision you will need to make is that of the level of tutor contact. By contact I mean 1 on 1, face to face lessons, or will instant messenger suffice?
Some math online tutors conduct lessons via Skype or other video calling technology. The advantage of video calling is that you can speak with your tutor face to face and not have to type your responses. In my opinion it is easier to converse with someone you can see, then having to type in order to get the point across.
Basically you simply need to work out what your needs are. If you require a quick fix than maybe a lesson with an automated tutor will work. But if you are after lasting results then find a reliable tutor who will develop a best fit for your family.

Practice For Competitive Examinations Online
AIEEE stands for All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination and this test was previously conducted as paper test, but now the test is partially conducted online and it is expected to be conducted online 100% in the coming years. It has been predicted that online examinations are going to be the future in India since it is easier to conduct exams online as compared to traditional method of examination. It is also cost-effective since paper, transportation and printing charges are eliminated.
Now, the question that would be arising in our minds is whether online version of AIEEE will be beneficial for the students and even some parents doubt whether there are resources available for enabling the students to practice for the online version of AIEEE. Answer to these doubts is that AIEEE online test is more beneficial to the students because they can answer each question at a faster pace as compared to answering through OMR sheet, wherein they will have to shade the correct option with the help of pencil. Above all, students can change the answer in online format, while it is somewhat difficult to erase the selected option in an OMR Sheet. The second question is with respect to resource for preparing for online test and there are efficient coaching centres enabling students to take up practice test for AIEEE online test.
By taking up practice tests like AIEEE online and IITJEE Online, students can evaluate their performance in such a way that they can identify their strengths and weaknesses so that they can work on their weaknesses. Some of these resources enable the students to practice for other entrance examinations pertaining to MBA, bank exam, etc... They offer free practice test series and paid practice test series as well. There are options like mini test, full test and all that is to be done by the students is to register with these sites free of cost and they can take up tests like IITJEE online practice test, Bank exam test, etc... by logging in to these sites.
Making use of online resources for preparing to AIEEE online test would be the smartest way for preparing to the exam. While taking offline mock test or preparation tests, students will have to physically visit the coaching centre for which they will have to waste their precious time and energy.
The growth of internet technology has brought about great changes in our life styles and education sector is no exception to this. Taking up free online tests can enable the students to improve their knowledge and confidence for facing the actual examination.

Social Work Online Classes - Can I Get My Degree Using the Internet?
Have you been thinking of enrolling in a classes towards a social work degree but are not sure how to fit this into your work schedule or already tight schedule with your children? One option is to consider taking social work online classes towards your degree.
Many people have already done volunteer work at a hospital, youth center or community clinic and realize that they like to work with kids, families, individuals and the elderly. A degree in social work will enable you to continue this work in a paid capacity and give you skills as a counselor, administrator or writer of policies.
If you are pressed for time and find attending lectures at the college or university a big challenge, you can now find online courses and programs that cover areas such as behavioral management, building self esteem, child psychology, counseling psychology, caring for the elderly and disabled at home, child abuse recognition, investigation and protection, domestic violence, conflict resolution, psychology, relationship management, stress management, nursing assistant and health care.
Course packages and time frames differ with universities. Check for universities which offer your choice of course and perhaps combines it with another one. Sometimes people will get core requirements out of the way online and then go physically to a local university program. Other times, you can do an online program, but may need to make trips to the university for some meetings as well as classroom experiences. For a graduate program, you will be needing to do an internship.
It's important to find out if the online programs will be recognized as accredited by your state. There are regional boards that determine which schools qualify. On top of this, if you wish to get licensed in your state, you'll need to also find out if your program is considered eligible. For instance, many states require accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) in order to sit for the licensing exam. Find out if you'll have an internship and the type of supervision available.
If you are needing continuing education courses in order to fulfill your license, there are many sites that offer classes including the website by the NASW (National Association of Social Work). You can read which state boards approve which ceu classes in the descriptions of each course.
The advantage of online classes is that you can study in your own time and at your own pace. You have access to books and courses which are taught by professionals and written by known authors. Be sure to find out about the credentials of the school, licensing requirements of your state and other factors to see if the online program is a good fit for your goals.

Do You Know What to Look for in Affordable Online Colleges?
With the current unemployment rate up around ten percent, this is no time to be looking for a job without a degree. Even for the most low-end jobs, you still need some education or training and if you don't have it, your only choice may be to head back to flipping burgers. If the only thing that is holding you back from getting your education is the price of college, then you should know that there affordable online colleges that are accredited and quick and easy to get through.
The first thing that you should look for if you are considering affordable online colleges for your education is an accreditation. Without a national accreditation, your degree might not be worth the paper that it is printed on. As tempting as it may be to get your four year degree by writing a single essay and paying a couple hundred bucks, no one will believe it is real and you won't really be accomplishing anything at all, so make sure you are dealing with a legitimate college.
Affordable online colleges usually offer some form of financial aid and will be able to help you get federal and state financial aid as well. Many people are able to make it through school without having to pay a dime until they graduate, which can really take a lot of the pressure off of you while you are trying to learn.
If you are currently working, have a family, or have other obligations, then you may want to look for affordable online colleges that offer a more flexible class schedule. When you go to a traditional college, school starts twice a year. Online colleges often allow you to take classes at your own pace, starting whenever you want, or they have class sessions that start every six weeks or so. This will not only help you graduate faster, but will allow you to get started sooner, too.
Affordable online colleges really are the ideal way to get your education, earn a diploma or certificate, and start making a life the way that you want it. You can get through school much quicker than you would if you went to a traditional school, you can learn at your own pace, never have to travel to campus, and finally get the education that you have always wanted so that you can finally get the job that you have always desired.

MBA Not Only From Top B-Schools, But Distance Education Also Good
The benefits of going to a top school are not limited to your initial job upon graduation. If you decide to change careers in the future the quality of your education will be one the determining factors in your ability to make the switch successfully, and it will also determine how other people rate your chances. The alumni network, and your own personal network from business school, will also be important determinants of your ability to switch. With a strong willing to help you, your chances are automatically better.
As the number of MBA holder in the world increases, so does the importance of getting a top-quality MBA rather than just any MBA. The better the reputation of a school, the more its graduates earn. For example, it is clear that graduates from schools ranked nearer to number 50. This pay gap increases dramatically as one goes further down the rankings, to those schools near the bottom of the 800 or so that grant MBAs in the US Some professions are virtually off-limits to graduates of lesser business schools. These include investment banking and corporate strategy consulting. The most desirable companies to work for, such as major consulting firms and investment banks, would no more think of recruiting at distance learning MBA than they would of giving this year's profits.
These firms look to hire the best and the brightest, and they know that the best and the brightest are to be found at the world's leading business schools. This category nearly speaks for itself. Whether for personal or business reasons, being a graduate of Stanford conjures up entirely different impressions and reactions among people you encounter than does being a graduate of distance education status is partially related to the other items listed here, such as salary, but it also reflects the fact that admits only people who are highly regarded to begin with.

Teach, Tutor Or Coach Online - What You Need To Get Started
Teaching Online
Have you ever considered teaching or learning a new skill online? This is something we believe anyone can now do. Teachers, tutors or coaches can increase their income by working from home and students can instantly find tutors in any subject anywhere in the world.
The rapid growth of technology & the internet has now made this a real possibility. Virtually every country in the world now has high speed internet access. According to internetworldstats.com there are currently around 2 billion internet users worldwide and this number is increasing all the time. Many of us use instant messaging tools and webcams to communicate with friends and family already and these are free and very easy to use. These same tools could be used to teach online.
Who can teach?
The word 'teach' means to impart knowledge, we all know something that many others do not. This could be how to make the perfect cake or how to take great photographs, iron a shirt or how to upgrade your computer's hard drive, local knowledge for visiting tourists or how to play the didgeridoo. Then there is the academic stuff like advanced mathematics, linguistics & science. You get the idea. Whether you are a trained professional teacher or just someone who knows something useful or interesting, everyone can teach.
Who would want to learn online?
The benefits to the students are endless; these are some of the most obvious...
Access to teachers in a vast number of subjects without having to leave home.
Access to teachers in other countries and cultures.
Students with disabilities or agoraphobia may feel more comfortable learning from home.
More focused lessons, you are one to one with the teacher, ask the questions relevant to you.
Parents struggling with their children's homework; find an expert online to help.
What equipment would I need?
All you need to teach or learn online is a computer with broadband internet access, a microphone and headphones (or headset), and a webcam if the lesson requires visual aspects. The only other requirement is to download and install one or more of the free instant messaging tools, such as Skype, MSN Live Messenger, OoVoo, Yahoo Messenger etc. None of the computer hardware needs to be brand new or state of the art. A three year old computer should suffice. Depending on the subject taught a decent webcam might be a good idea, 'hi-definition' webcams are now available at very little cost.
What could I earn as a teacher?
You could earn any rate you like per hour or half hour lesson, so the earning potential is almost limitless. The rate would depend on your experience, the subject matter, and what people are willing to pay. If you already teach you could greatly increase your number of students. Say for example you already teach guitar to a handful of local people. Now imagine how many new students you could get from a potential 2 billion people, you could turn a part time job into a full time job.
How would the booking and transactions work?
The bookings can be taken care of using an online calendar system, where you mark out the times you will be available or unavailable and the students can then book lessons in your available time slots. Handling financial transactions are a little trickier on the Internet, how do you pay, do you pay before or after the lesson, what happens if someone doesn't turn up for the lesson, what if someone is a fraud? We have developed an online platform that takes all these concerns away from the teacher and student and mitigates the majority of the potential frauds that can occur on the internet.

The Role of Social Learning Portal in Research and Education
The significant changes in the means people collaborate and share information have opened the way to form various study groups at different places and from different disciplines. A distributed learning environment not only involves teachers and students within the university, but extends to students at different universities as well. Nowadays, many technologies are used in e-learning, from blogs to collaborative software, virtual classrooms, forum exchanges, social media and mobile technologies. One of the most important characteristics of web 2.0 technologies is that they emphasize sharing, participation, and collaboration. A well-designed learning environment helps to improve learning by making information and instructional content available and accessible anytime and from anywhere.
Social learning is defined as a new paradigm of finding, consuming, creating and contributing information via collaborative commons. In this environment, community creates and maintains multiple forms of content and members of this community are able to find and consume content via an informal path. Collaborative learning environments have been proven to offer significantly higher quality of content as compared to formal learning environments. Additionally, social learning creates a higher degree of engagement among participants and members can benefit mutually from the links, cross-talk, and feedback. A lot of research has been done on the role of Web 2.0 services in supporting social interaction between students, teachers, and researchers.
In light of the benefits associated with the rapid advance in information technology and the growing popularity of social-networking sites, many websites are moving to adopt learning communities for easily sharing knowledge. Social learning websites are expanding and becoming more specialized; they support creating private and public work spaces. Furthermore, those websites promote active conversation between students, employees, teams, project clients, and partners. 'Livemocha' is an online language community that is specialized for language learners, connecting with native speakers for instructive help. 'Bloomfire' is an additional example which specializes in building an effective knowledge base for businesses through a collaborative environment; this website easily supports sharing knowledge and the discussions that surround business topics. 'Google Docs' is a service by Google that allows people to share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with others. 'Zoho' supports creating collaborative portals for effective knowledge management. Users can create a searchable, centralized information repository for easy organizational access. Some websites offer communities to build their own social networking website (i.e. 'socialgo'). They provide a set of features including profiles, messaging, groups, events, chat, forums, blogging and file upload. To enhance online collaboration between students, there is need for online community that can connect students from different universities and research centers.
This article highlights the importance of developing a Social Learning Portal between universities as an application of social learning between academic institutions. This specialized community can be administrated by information technology centers at universities. This community includes university students and teachers, and accounts are granted to students with valid university IDs. Information about students' universities and departments are public in this online community. The social learning portal can be divided into several communities; one community for each department, including all participating universities. Each community can be further divided into sub-communities according to specialization, for example, the major community is Computer Science, sub-communities include Computer Networks, Web Development, and Object Oriented Programming. In addition, joint communities can be formed between different departments, which can help different university students share experiences and collaborate. For example, a research project may include students specialized in Computer Science and Bioinformatics. Students who belong to this community can share the proper, related learning content and resources easily with other students.
This social learning portal enhances scientific research; it provides an online working structure for collaborative projects. Embedded in a user-friendly interface, the portal will offer research and publication guidelines for students. In addition, Social Learning Portal supports research group formation (under the supervision of involved departments) that combines students from different universities and various academic backgrounds. Instructors can add new groups according to their research interests, they can assign research participants to the group, and activities can be viewed by students from all universities; when students join the group they can see the group's posts on their wall, and they can participate by writing comments. Furthermore, students can contact instructors from other universities. Universities can assign weekly hours for instructors to be online and discuss some problems posted by students (office hours).
To develop a successful social learning website, factors must be considered during the design and development and some questions must be raised:
1. What is the role of universities for successful implementation of social learning?
2. The attitudes of teachers and students towards using social learning platforms, and the effectiveness of existing platforms.
3. What are the possibilities and barriers of implementing new and effective features/technologies for social learning in universities?
By introducing a specialized social learning community, the quality of the education process at the universities will be enhanced, scientific research will be emphasized, and social networks will be a more effective and reliable tool.

Online Continuing Education Keeps Teachers Current
The rapid pace of technological and social change affects not only social institutions, but the professions of the populace as well. Throughout the 20th century, all sorts of professionals used every available means - reading journals, attending seminars, taking correspondence courses - to stay abreast of progress in their professions. For the teacher, as well, the Continuing Education Unit (CEU), now available through online courses, represents the attainment of state-of-the-art skills.
For the most part, public school teachers in the "K-12" (kindergarten through 12th grade) classrooms leave it a few chosen representatives to battle with politicians, school boards and budgets. Most of them give their full attention to their students, since there are many educators who really do consider what they do a calling, or a cause, as much as a career. The availability of online colleges with courses that earn the Continuing Education Unit is, for a teacher, a great time-saver as well as a way to be more effective in the classroom.
New specialties = new opportunities
In addition to perfecting skills they already possess, Internet training and education can give a teacher a path to new specialties that, in turn, afford them new opportunities in their profession. The continuing education unit, then, also represents change and progress for the teacher who is motivated to go online and work toward a new or upgraded credential, perhaps in an entirely new discipline.
Many special education teachers start out in regular classrooms, according to the National Education Association, and then decide to specialize. Depending on precisely what they want to teach, they may then be required to meet a "state standard of evaluation covering multiple subjects, not later than two years after the date of employment." Obviously, to get the training and testing done within this timeframe makes the online continuing education unit a very good choice for a teacher with a busy schedule.
Clearly, online colleges and training programs are not just making money for their owners, but providing a real public service to some of the most motivated public servants - teachers. For a teacher dedicated to his or her profession, going online to earn just the kind of continuing education unit needed for career advancement or specialization is both convenient and socially beneficial.

Bad Economy: A Good Time for Shifting Focus to Education
Decline in the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of a country for at least two consecutive quarters has been a contributing factor to the economic slowdown and recession in the country. Recession brings a visible decadent change in the society which results in increased levels of unemployment and layoffs in various organizations etc. It results in a time that is filled with uncertainty and anxiety for most people.
But is this period of bad economy really as bad as people actually conceive it to be? Maybe not! Look around; there is never a dearth of opportunities. Education consultants opine that one can make use of this time in a productive and fruitful manner, and engage oneself in activities that would not only make survival in such a scenario possible, but also ensure a bright future. Earning an online degree can be the best bet in today's time. Countering the effects of a bad economy in our lives is something that should be learnt. Adopting a negative attitude would only increase the pressure of recession period and trap us in the same bubble for a much longer time. Stephen Covey, a noted and celebrated author, says that between a stimulus and the response is a gap. Here we can safely consider recession to be the stimulus and your plan for steering through it to be the "gap". It is always your choice to make- whether you wish to be caught in this dark phase and sway with the wind, or you wish to take matters in your own hands and make efforts to secure your future.
Education is one of the best ways that will bridge this obscure phase and set the blocks for future too. When the job market is down, do not try to fit in forcefully and take wrong career decisions keeping short term goals in mind. Keep the bigger picture in consideration when making important decisions in life. One should remember that it is not at all a matter of dishonor to be unemployed. However, losing all hopes of turning around the tables is the biggest crime one can do to oneself. If such a situation does occur, and you are forced to leave the security of having a job, don't lose hope! Make efforts instead to add to your own employability, so that in some time you have acquired enough skills to act as a competition to other professionals. Your time off from job would give you the opportunity to invest that time in yourself and ponder over the many more career options laid in front of you. With right efforts made in the right direction, one can easily turn such an event to his/ her favor.
Sometimes, professionals stuck in the same profile for long periods get irritated and this decreases their productivity. This is the time to re-ignite the long neglected interests and give a new direction to your career, and even to take an alternative career path if felt necessary. For people who are not happy with their jobs or find it unsatisfactory, the time is ripe to take a plunge in new opportunities and bring about a significant change in life. Advancing one's knowledge base and acquiring new skills and qualifications will help one get the best possible position for employment with better earning potentials once the economy is stable.
Going back to the classrooms can be a refreshing change from the mundane office routine and can prove to be a whole new productive experience. Apart from the general methods, there are also a number of other ways (like seminars, workshops, certifications, etc.) through which one can master new technologies and skills. Pursuing education and utilizing the time efficiently also proves a keenness to learn which is appreciated by recruiters and goes a long way in improving a person's value in the job market. It is, thus, imperative to make one's mind accordingly and plan strategically.
